Oshay’s Brain Domains CIC, is based in Ayr, Scotland, and we are a community interest company dedicated to supporting individuals with neurodivergent conditions, particularly Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Founded in February 2019 by Maryelen and Paula McPhail, our organisation offers a range of services aimed at education, advocacy, and support for families, caregivers, and professionals.
Oshay’s provides a comprehensive Mind Mapping Assessment designed to understand an individual’s behavioral responses related to brain-based conditions.
This includes: A questionnaire completed by parents or guardians. A detailed report highlighting the individual’s strengths, weaknesses, and coping strategies. Recommendations for accommodations in educational settings. A 10-week aftercare program offering one-on-one support for caregivers. This assessment aims to facilitate better understanding and support for individuals, enhancing their educational and social experiences.
Oshay’s offers specialised training programs to empower caregivers and professionals:
10 Brain Domains Training: A five-week course exploring the impact of prenatal alcohol exposure and associated trauma, providing insights into FASD.
Parenting to the Brain: A five-week program equipping parents and caregivers with strategies to support children with FASD and other neurodivergent conditions.
These courses are led by qualified facilitators and aim to foster a deeper understanding of neurobehavioral approaches.
Recognising the importance of community support, we at Oshay’s facilitates:
Online Caregiver Support Group: A 10-week personalised coaching program led by the founder, offering guidance and emotional support to caregivers.
Online Support Group for Individuals: A weekly session hosted by Paula, providing a safe space for neurodivergent individuals to connect and share experiences.
These groups aim to build resilience and a sense of belonging among participants.
